Born in The Netherlands, the moonwalk was attempted at the moment Shannon could stand on his own two feet…
Moving to Brisbane, and calling Australia home at an early age, he was cast in his first professional musical with GFO productions, 'The King and I', starring Hayley Mills, at just six years of age. Establishing himself as a young entertainer, Shannon continued his training in all facets of dance. His first television commercial came at the age of seven, and this early taste of professionalism helped him strive for success in the performing arts industry. Whilst continuing dance classes, he took up gymnastics achieving a high level of success, representing his State. Shannon was selected for the Queensland Ballet production of 'Sleeping Beauty' and the Australian Ballet season of 'Manon' and 'Don Quixote'. Television credits rolled in soon thereafter, the mini-series’ - 'The Wayne Manifesto' (ABC), 'Medivac' (Nine), and 'Fire II' (Seven). Shannon then successfully auditioned for the Lyric Operas’ 'Madame Butterfly' and later accepted a role for the season of 'Eugene Onegin'.
Being influenced and mentored at Dance Schools including The Johnny Young Talent School and Davidia Lind Dance Centre, Shannon’s zeal for learning his craft, lead him to study under Robert Sturrock, Choreographer and dance instructor. It was there that Shannon was introduced into the professional dance world and began working in the many facets of the entertainment industry. At 17 years old, he was offered a scholarship to the prestigious EDGE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER in Los Angeles, his passion for dance was broadened, and his career was taken to new heights. Shannon, 24, has now danced on numerous Television Shows and Music Videos. The Oscar Award winning Film “Happyfeet”, alongside the renowned Savion Glover, and toured South Korea and Europe with Los Angeles’ Commonality Dance Company. He has featured in over 30 Television Commercials, and danced with Britney Spears, Fergie, Kelly Clarkson, and with the UK’s Will Young on his “Keep on” tour.
Shannon continues to strive to be one of the best in his field of work respectably.
Honoured, he now proudly dances with the King of Pop. Dreams can come true… THIS IS IT.
